Two Tampa Police Officers Shot: David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab

Two Tampa Police Officers Were Shot Tuesday Morning: Officer David Curtis and Officer Jeffrey Kocab

According to The Tampa Tribune, a massive manhunt is now underway for two people suspected of shooting the two Tampa police officers.

Police are currently at the Bristol Bay City View apartment complex at 4900 Bristol Bay Way in Palm River searching for Dontae Rashawn Morris, 24, and Cortnee' Nicole Brantley, 22 (pictures of the suspects).

The shooting occurred early Tuesday morning when Officer Curtis pulled over a 1994 red Toyota Camry with no license plate and found out that the male passenger had a warrant outstanding for minor violations. Officer Kocab responded to the call for back-up and as the two officers tried to apprehend the suspect he turned around and shot them both.

Officer Jeffrey Kocab was pronounce dead at a Tampa Hospital leaving behind a wife who is nine months pregnant. Officer David Curtis leaves behind a wife and four children, and his family has told the media that he will remain on life support for a few hours while his organs are harvested.
