The Joran van der Sloot confession is valid. Friday a judge in Peru denied the defense’s motion to void Joran van der Sloot’s confession. The reason the defense wanted the confession thrown out is because van der Sloot had a state-appointed attorney at the time he confessed.
Thankfully Superior Court Judge Wilder Casique did not buy the motion. Van der Sloot is in jail pending his trail. He is charged with first-degree murder and robbery. These charges are in connection with the May 30 death of Stephany Flores in a Peruvian hotel room.
In addition to being charged in this murder, Van der Sloot is also the sole suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance in Aruba. He has not been charged in that crime.
The Flores family is happy with the judge’s decision. They have also reportedly been in contact with Natalee Holloway’s family. Of course, Van der Sloot is appealing. However, there is little hope of any appeal working.
It looks like this time Van der Sloot just may get his punishment. He has repeatedly lied over the years, and it is time for him to be stopped. I hope he is tried and convicted quickly.
