The man who played the ball for Buddle's second, Steve Cherundolo, also deserves a look for honors. While the entire defense lacked at times Cherundolo was the most stable of the back four and added quite a bit going forward. His cross to Buddle was pinpoint, and the right back did a nice job of supporting Landon Donovan on the flank.
Robbie Findley, had he finished one of several opportunities right in front of goal, would likely have been considered the best player on the pitch. Findley once again showed the ability to run at, and past, defenders and to open up the field. The striker also showed the instincts to be in good positions in front of goal, but the finishing must improve.
