Usa vs Australia 3-1 Friendly Soccer match 2010

Edson Buddle was a clear choice for man of the match in the USA's 3-1 win over Australia. The Galaxy striker notched two USA goals, the first coming of his own making after picking up the ball and driving at goal, the second from a well placed header. It was a promising showing from one of the strikers still in the running to start for Bob Bradley's side against England in one week's time and one that should help to further ease the perceived problems at the front for the USA.

The man who played the ball for Buddle's second, Steve Cherundolo, also deserves a look for honors. While the entire defense lacked at times Cherundolo was the most stable of the back four and added quite a bit going forward. His cross to Buddle was pinpoint, and the right back did a nice job of supporting Landon Donovan on the flank.

Robbie Findley, had he finished one of several opportunities right in front of goal, would likely have been considered the best player on the pitch. Findley once again showed the ability to run at, and past, defenders and to open up the field. The striker also showed the instincts to be in good positions in front of goal, but the finishing must improve.
