Discovery Middle School Shooting Latest News

Today-Discovery Middle School in Madison, Alabama was the scene of another US school shooting when Tood Brown was shot in the head. Brown was shot point blank in the head by a fellow ninth grade student. The shooters name has not been released but he is in custody and Todd Brown, 14, remains in critical condition in hospital.

No other members of staff or students were harmed, although the school is still on lockdown. One eyewitness at the scene, a ninth grade girl, says she thought the gun shot was a balloon popping. Todd Brown was shot while students were gathered in the hall during a break, and the witness, Janelle Lawrence, 15, was only a few feet away.

Immediately after the shooting Lawrence claims the students who had been talking to Todd Brown fled the scene. Janelle Lawrence and the other girls nearby rushed to his side and summoned help. The shooter, an unidentified peer, did not flee the scene, and instead went to the last stall in a nearby restroom with the gun, and and waited for police.
