Alexander McQueen jilted by lover weeks before his death
It has emerged that style icon Alexander McQueen was upset at being jilted by his lover weeks before his death. On Thursday, the British designer was found hanged at his home in Mayfair, central London.
The Daily Telegraph reported that an unpublished interview with the Australian edition of Harper’s Bazaar magazine has been discovered which reveals details of his tortured romantic life.
McQueen talked about his last relationship, and added that he had got his lover’s name tattooed on his arm.
Pointing to the ink on his right arm, McQueen said, “(He was) a bastard who went back to Australia and I was left looking at his name.”
He did not reveal his former boyfriend’s name, the magazine’s editor Edwina McCann said.
In 2000, McQueen was unofficially married to his ex-partner George Forsyth but the relationship ended a year later.
