Maria Riesch of Germany won Women’s super – combined gold medal in Alpine Skiing In Vancouver 2010 winter Olympics on 18th February. American Julia Mancuso took the silver medal while Anja Paerson of Sweden took the bronze.Maria Riesch won the God yesterday after Lindsey Vonn ruined her chances of winning her second gold due to her crash.
Yesterday in Women’s downhill where Linndsey Vonn grabbed a gold, Maria was way behind by landing at number 8 spot.
In the final run Vonn fell midway giving a huge opportunity for Riesch to have her first gold in Alpine Skiing.
Maria Riesch told that she felt at breakfast already that this could be her day. I felt calm, relaxed, totally unlike yesterday, and it made all the difference and thus I managed the Gold.
SHe also told that, yesterday she was nervous and her knee was shaking and such less confidence lost medal for her in Downhill yesterday. But this time she bounced back with energy and thus i did it.
