Nodar Kumaritashvili, who was to compete in Vancouver 2010, died in a fatal crash, much before beginning of the Olympic Games.
Reports say that Nodal lost his control on his sled and crashed into a steel pole, which proved to be fatal for him.
Soon after the accident, authorities flew him to the hospital, but he was declared brought dead there.
In the mean time, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili told reporters on Saturday, “One thing I know for sure is that no sports mistake is supposed to lead to a death. No sports mistake is supposed to be fatal.
