The top 24 is coming in pieces this year.Instead of announcing the complete group of semifinalists on Wednesday's show, American Idol will reveal some of the chosen few in a two-hour episode Tuesday.

After the remaining contestants perform their final solo numbers, judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres will deliberate before announcing some of the top 24 semifinalists.
The remaining aspiring Idols in the top 24 will be announced Wednesday.
