The top-ranked Indianapolis Colts (16-2) lost their lead for a moment, but regained it and lead the No. 1-ranked New Orleans 17-16 in Sunday's Super Bowl 44 in Miami.
Colts' running back Joseph Addai scurried in for a four-yard touchdown midway through the quarter, but the Saints outscored Indy 10-7 in the period thanks to a 16-yard touchdown catch by Pierre Thomas from Drew Brees and a late 47-yard field goal from Garrett Hartley.
The Colts other touchdown came in the first quarter on a 19-yard score by Pierre Garcon from Peyton Manning. Kicker Matt Stover also nailed a 38-yard field goal in the period.
Hartley has been clutch for the Saints and could have an opportunity for a game-winner if the game continues to play out as it has. He has converted on three-of-three field goal tries of 44, 46, and 47 yards thus far.
