PS3 Update 3.21: Playstation 3 Firmware Update 3.21
One of the specialties of the Japanese console, PlayStation 3 was able to install and use an open-source operating system (a Linux distribution-based), with the next firmware update, which will be released today April 1, this will no longer possible and this not a fools day joke.
This feature will disappear with the new firmware update 3.21, the decision taken by Sony Computer Entertainment for security problems.
For those who decide not to upgrade the firmware to the latest version will be denied certain possibilities, such as access to PlayStation Network and use the features that require network access to the PlayStation Network (such as online features of PS3 games and chat ) as well as the inability to reproduce of software titles for PS3 or Blu-ray Disc video that require firmware version 3.21 (or later) and also the reproduction of copyrighted video that is stored on a media server (when the DTCP-IP is enabled in Settings) is no longer available.
For those who decide to update the firmware and possessed of the operating system will perform a backup of the information contained in the partition because then you will not be able to access it.
