Round 1 of March Madness scores for 2010 on Thursday we saw buzzer beaters, thrilling overtime games, spoiler upsets and top seed teams taken to their limits.
Among the big winners in the opening round of play so far were Murray State, Washington, Ohio and Wake Forest (see latest scores).
Surprisingly, three of the top ranked Big East teams have gone out early, with Georgetown, Notre Dame and Marquette all losing in the opening round. The two top seeded teams Kentucky and Kansas both won easily over their opening round #16 seeded opponents.
On Thursday, Villanova was taken to the limits by Robert Morris in a thrilling 73-70 overtime win for the Wildcats. Wake Forest won with an overtime jumper with just 1.2 remaining on the clock. Georgetown was stunned by Ohio, while BYU and Florida went to double overtime to resolve their game. There was definitely some great games and its just the first day.
