American Idol just bid farewell to Didi Benami as she got eliminated tonight. Didi was part of the show’s bottom 3 and was one of the more likely candidates to get
booted tonight. The other members of the bottom 3 Tim Urban and Katie Stevens managed to survive tonight but their future on the show isn’t really bright.
Didi Benami got eliminated in Round 6. Everything isn’t down for Didi though as Simon said that her performance was way better than he expected.She had dedicated her last song, “What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted,” to her friend Rebecca Joy Lier who died on Dec. 14, 2005.
An emotional video montage of her time on American Idol was played on the show when she was eliminated. Very classy for American Idol.
Good bye Didi and good luck on whatever you chose to do next in your life. Didi Benami’s best friend Rebecca Joy Lear died on December 14th, 2005. Didi has mentioned her friend Rebecca on several American Idol episodes, and has dedicated her performance on the reality show to her friend. Given how well Didi Benami has already done this season, we’re guessing Rebecca would be very proud.
