The Bachelor update: season ends, controversial couple weds

Controversial Bachelor couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney got married over the weekend, with their one-hour wedding special scheduled to air March 8 on ABC.
The bad news: controversial Bachelor couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney aren’t going away just yet. The good news: with their TV wedding airing next March 8, we only have a week to go before they’ll finally begin to fade into oblivion.

Although the one-hour special doesn’t air for another week, the actual ceremony took place this past weekend at Terranea Resort in Racho Palos Verdes, Calif. According

to Us Weekly, even the weather didn’t care about their ever-lasting love, as it began to pour in the middle of the ceremony. The couple reportedly took the bad weather in stride, laughing even as Malaney’s strapless Monique Lhuillier gown got soaked.

It hasn’t been an easy trip to the altar for Mesnick and Malaney. The lovebirds faced plenty of criticism when Mesnick broke up with his first Bachelor pick Melissa Rycroft on national TV, only to go back to runner-up Malaney and make out with her minutes later. But the couple stayed together, and Mesnick proposed less than a year later in New Zealand.
The wedding had plenty of former Bachelor(ette) stars in attendance, including Trista and Ryan Sutter, Jillian Harris, Ed Swiderski and Charlie O’Connell. And, playing the part of the most “what the heck are you doing here?” guest, Lost star Evangeline Lilly also showed up for the ceremony. Malaney and Mesnick are now the only Bachelor couple to have tied the knot; although the Sutters are indeed married, they technically met on The Bachelorette.
