Conan Spends $1.5 Millon On Bugatti Veyron Mouse,
With his days as host of "The Tonight Show" quickly winding down, Conan O'Brien is pulling out all the stops against his soon-to-be former employers at NBC. On Wednesday night, O'Brien decided to hit the network where it hurts the most -- its wallet -- by rolling out a "crazy-expensive" comedy bit in the form a "Bugatti Veyron mouse."
"There it is, the most expensive car in the world dressed up as a mouse," O'Brien said gleefully. "As you can hear, the mouse's theme song is the original master recording of the Rolling Stones classic, 'Satisfaction.' "
"Is this appropriate music for a car that looks like a mouse?" O'Brien continued. "No! Does it add anything at all to this comedy bit? No it doesn't. Is it crazy-expensive to play on the air, not to mention the rights to re-air this clip on the internet? Hell, yes!"
Total cost of the segment: $1.5 million. O'Brien's payout to leave "The Tonight Show": a rumored $45 million. Sweet, sweet revenge? Priceless.
