LYRICS! Here again are lyrics of the “Pants on the Ground” and youtube video. Lyrics of “Pants on the Ground” by General Larry Platt hit American Idol last night and took to the net in one of the strongest viral responses of any performer in recent seasons.

There is catch - Platt of course can’t be a contestant on the show.

The insertion of Platt into last night’s episode showed a stark contrast to previous net-ready stories of 2009’s season. In 2009, the public was fed Bikini girl - a girl who had limited talent but for her ability to audition for the show in a bikini and kiss Ryan Seacrest.

But last night, Platt’s insertion became a hit … because of music, rather than a clothing gimmick.
Platt of course is too old to be a contestant, but not too old to be added to a future Idol album. Simon said:

“I have a horrible feeling that song could be a hit. I don’t think this is the last we’ll hear from you.”
