New University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong is on a recruiting roll, having landed yet another commitment.
On Sunday, Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's running back Kamal Hogan committed to the Cardinals. He's one of six players among those who visited Louisville over the weekend to say they will join the team.

The Cardinals are still waiting on more, including the top two prospects in Kentucky.

“We are having a great weekend,” Strong wrote on his Twitter account Sunday afternoon.

Central linebacker Tim Patterson and Fort Campbell quarterback Antonio Andrews — the state's Mr. Football — are both trying to decide whether they want to wear red and black.

“It was more than I expected,” Andrews said of his visit. “I liked it a lot, and Coach Strong is a real nice type of guy. I haven't made any decisions, but I had a good time.”

Andrews was offered a scholarship on his visit, and Patterson said he will pick between UofL and Kentucky between now and the February signing period.

UofL, which had around 15 prospects on campus over the weekend, now has 21 known commitments with the addition of the 5-foot-11, 196-pound Hogan.

Hogan is the No.6 prospect in New Jersey, according to Rivals.com. He will join teammate Kai Dominguez at UofL — the wide receiver committed to the Cards on Saturday.

Kissimmee, Fla., defensive end B.J. Butler switched his commitment from Georgia to Louisville on Thursday. Summerville, Ga., running back Senorise Perry committed with Dominguez on Saturday. Miami Northwestern running back Corvin Lamb and wide receiver Michaelee Harris committed before visiting.

Hogan, tabbed as the No.32 running back in the nation by Rivals, has been timed at 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. He also had offers from Central Florida, Syracuse, East Carolina and Duke, and was getting interest from Georgia and Florida.

He finished with just less than 1,000 yards and scored 13 touchdowns as a senior, and had more than 700 yards and seven TDs as a junior.

Two other weekend visitors — Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson defensive end Malcolm Strong and defensive back Chris Sharpe — told Cardinalsports.com that they are ready to commit if UofL has room for them. The Cardinals are expected to sign around 25 players.
