The Critics Choice Awards for year 2010 have been bestowed to the winners of the year. Critics Choice Awards 2010 ceremony was broadcasted live on the VH1 television. However the winners of the awards are exposed out at the annual ceremony of Critics Choice Awards every year. Broadcast Film Critics Association gives the awards to the nominees, and the board of directors of Broadcast Film Critics Association gives the special awards to the winners every year in January.
The original name of Critics Choice Awards is basically The Broadcast film Critics Awards. These awards are for the Hollywood stars given by the Hollywood reviewers. These awards are held in order to appreciate the best cinematic accomplishments. The winners are selected by voting and are declared in December. The winners are hopeful to win the other upcoming awards.
According to the votes and decision of the judges following are the winners of Critics Choice Award 2010.
BEST ACTOR award went to Jeff Bridges – Crazy Heart.
BEST ACTRESS award was a tie between Sandra Bullock – The Blind Side, and Meryl Streep – Julie & Julia.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR award winner was Christoph Waltz –Inglourious Basterds.BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS award winner was Mo’Nique – Precious.
BEST YOUNG ACTOR/ACTRESS award goes to Saoirse Ronan – The Lovely Bones.
BEST ACTING ENSEMBLE award winner was Inglourious Basterds.
BEST DIRECTING award went to Kathryn Bigelow – The Hurt Locker.
BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY award winner was Quentin Tarantino – Inglourious Basterds.
BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY contenders were Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner – Up in the Air.
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE was Up.
BEST ACTION MOVIE was announced and it was Avatar.
BEST COMEDY winner was The Hangover.
BEST PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION was Grey Gardens.
BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM award went to Broken Embraces.
BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE award winner was The Cove.
BEST SONG award went to The Weary Kind” – T Bone Burnett, Ryan Bingham – Crazy Heart.
BEST SCORE award winner was Michael Giacchino – Up.
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY award winner was Mauro Fiore – Avatar.
BEST ART DIRECTION award winners were Rick Carter and Robert Stromberg – Avatar.
BEST EDITING award went to Stephen Rivkin, John Refoua and James Cameron – Avatar.
BEST COSTUME DESIGN award winner was Sandy Powell – The Young Victoria.
BEST MAKEUP award winner was District 9.
BEST VISUAL EFFECTS award went to Avatar.
