- Katy Perry has the highest selling album on Billboard with "Teenage Dream" moving 192,000 copies in its debut week. It makes Perry the first woman to top the chart since kindred pop starlet Ke$ha went No.1 way back in January.
- Paste Magazine announced sad news yesterday: the music magazine will be suspending print publication. Check Click Track in about fifteen minutes for a quick interview with Paste editor Josh Jackson.
- New York's Blue Note Entertainment Group has announced plans to re-open the iconic and long-shuttered Howard Theater on 7th and T Streets, N.W. The Blue Note, which owns and operates New York's Blue Note Jazz Club, Highline Ballroom and B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, will hold a ground breaking ceremony at the Howard this morning at 10 a.m.
- Washington's Rock & Roll Hotel is curating this year's H St. Festival Stages, a free public concert set to take place on Sept. 18. The bill includes the excellent local Tropicalia cover band Alma Tropicalia, "Afro-high" rock troupe Elikeh and hardcore superhero H.R. of Bad Brains.
