Sugar Bowl 2010 Score One Last Lopsided Tebow-Meyer Win Video

The Sugar Bowl 2010 score was always going to be an afterthought. However, the Sugar Bowl 2010 score actually managed to overshadow the Urban Meyer-Tim Tebow-Brian Kelly drama of the last few weeks. Of course, the 51-24 Gators win had absolutely no drama, other than waiting for Tim Tebow

to leave the field for the last time. For Cincinnati, it brought an ugly end to their otherwise perfect season, and began the post-Brian Kelly era on a rough note. Yet the Sugar Bowl 2010 score was all about Tebow, Meyer and the Gators, as the runup to the game had been.

Giving the goodbyes to Tebow, and the recent Meyer drama, it was almost hard to remember there was a Sugar Bowl to be played. Cincinnati was also getting overshadowed, despite their 12-0 record and No. 3 BCS ranking. The Bearcats had a chance to prove they weren't a fluke, and could give Tebow and Meyer a bitter farewell.

The Sugar Bowl 2010 had the same setup as the last two, with an SEC runner up facing an upstart, undefeated underdog. But the score this year was more like Georgia's destruction of Hawaii in 2008, rather than Utah's upset of Alabama in 2009. Things got ugly really quick, as Tebow started out perfect and never let up.

The Bearcats' offensive prowess is well known, but their defense has gotten them in trouble too many times. The Sugar Bowl 2010 score was the expected Gators' showcase, but Tony Pike and the Bearcats couldn't make it a shootout - not by a longshot.

The only mistakes Florida made in the first half was missing their first extra point, and missing a late field goal. By halftime, the score was 30-3 Gators, and most every objective viewers probably tuned out. Those that didn't stayed to get their last look at Tebow.

He finished with record numbers for the Sugar Bowl and the BCS in general, completing 31 of 35 passes for 482 yards. He threw three touchdowns and ran for one more, as his final college game may have been his best one, a month after being pummeled by Alabama.
